Volunteer

The Festival relies on a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time generously and with great enthusiasm.  Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn additional skills, help your community and be part of an exciting cultural event.  We are always looking to increase our valuable volunteer force... why not get involved?!

Roles

Event Stewards man the doors, distribute programmes, sell last-minute tickets and help people to their seats.

Hosts offer accommodation to the artists performing in the Festival - free of charge but with complimentary tickets to the artist's event.

Drivers transport artists to and from stations, venues and sometimes accommodation.

Village Representatives distribute and top-up brochures in the lead-up to the Festival, put up posters and help in many other ways.

If you are interested in any of the above roles or wish to find out more, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.  You can also join us at our Volunteer Briefing and Social Evening in February at Fremington Village Hall where there is light refreshments and the opportunity to sign up for specific roles (so don't forget your diary!).

Induction, Training & Support

Our Volunteer Coordinator and/or Events Management Team during the Festival offer you support.  They will remain the key contacts throughout your volunteering with us.  This will include briefing before events and any training required for specialist roles.  This will also ensure that Swaledale Festival is doing all it can to make your volunteer experience an enjoyable and meaningful one.
